Store emails in its own tab outside of Documents
Right now, emails are are stored in the documents section. It would help tremendously if emails can have its own tab and be viewable like Notes (sorting by date, etc.)
This is now available in our Summer Release as part of the Customer Timeline – History Tab feature. In Group and Enterprise Web Access and CRM Live!

I agree with John here, that we need the History Tab feature in desktop client as well!
And indication whether it is incoming or outgoing would be desirable! -

Also very desirable to have indicated whether an email is incomin or outgoing & to be able to search on this. Goldmine has it all over us in the area of email handling!

Hi Paul and Caroline, we will be combining the notes, emails, documents into one tab, sort of like an activity/history feed. Feel free to provide more comments on how you think this can improve the existing notes and documents tab! - Connie

Hi Connie, I can agree with this idea in one respect, that sorting and reading emails if important enough to need it's own tab, on the other hand the more separate tabs we have the harder it is to "read" the full history of interaction with an account.
The alternative to consider it to have _less_ tabs and combine Notes and Documents, but improve the one-click filter options in here. After all, many Emails can be logged to Notes and _not_ to the Documents tab (eg: Campaigns or at user discression).
To use this tab, rather than choosing Custom Filter from the drop-down and ticking all the various features, make some tick options on the Filter bar for: Email, AutoNote (eg: all the system generated ones), Attachment. Coupled with the new Date based filter this would suit majority of purposes and give a quick view of what matters for a given Client.

Hi Caroline, I have also added your comment as a separate idea.

Also the ability to open one email and use arrows to easily access the Next/Previous email without having to close the email and open the next one e.g. as in the Notes dialog bax.
