Convert Individual record - Copy all basic fields and UDFs to Company and Contact records
When we convert an Individual Record to a Company/Contact, the fields are carried over to the Contact record but not to the Company.
Example : The "Partner" field value isn’t carried over into the Company record, although it is available on the Contact record.
Please copy automatically all fields and UDFs to both records during the conversion or give the ability to choose manually which field to copy...
We are considering combining Company and Individual to a new group called Account.

The Custom Tab is useful. And once available, the possibility to search for contacts based on a company field will be very useful !
But this suggestion is a little bit different and the "Partner" field is a good example in this case. If we assign an individual to a partner, the partner can see it through the portal. But after the conversion to company/contact, the contact is still assigned to the partner but not the company. The partner can then see only the contact... -
We added the Custom Tab, which allows you to view both company/individual and contact level details in the same tab. We are considering how to make it easier to also search for information across both the company/individual level or the contact level.

Also important for user-defined fields. When an UDF is available for Individual, contact and company, the convert process copy the UDF to the Contact but not to the company.
