Single Sign On (SSO) in the Cloud
More and more customers are asking for two things that currently don't sit well together in Maximizer. Single Sign On and Maximizer in the Cloud.
If your Maximizer server is in a private cloud it is possible to add it to your Windows Domain and use Active Directory for Single Sign On (SSO), however this is not normally the case when using Maximizer in the cloud.
Microsoft provide ADFS (Active Directory Federated Services) to allow external web applications (like Maximizer) to use Active Directory for SSO without the need to add the web server to the domain. Microsoft are not the only provider of SSO services that use the same standards (SAML 2.0) which could open Maximizer up to other authentication systems.
Large organisations don't like managing two sets of user accounts and passwords for Maximizer and would prefer to use Windows accounts.
To allow large organisations to have cloud based Maximizer and use Windows SSO, it would be useful if Maximizer could support technologies like ADFS.
As far as I know this can't be implemented with the current Maximizer web portals
SAML SSO support for Cloud has been implemented in 2021 release.
