Could you please provide more detailed use cases and examples. Basic UDF inheritance can be complicated and confusing for new entries or for those that are left blank on purpose etc.

An error occurred while saving the comment This feature should follow through to the address book entry even if the contact was made via another module ie: if you create a service case and there are phone logs and emails saved to the case contact then the date last contacted field should be updated.

In general mandatory fields should have similar characteristics to UDF's including the ability to make them mandatory.
