    I'm a new user to Maximizer but I have a different concept to solve this problem that I believe makes more sense. It is similar to Tim's concept. If someone leaves a company / household, users still want to see all correspondences, notes, etc but there needs to be a way to mark them as no longer working for the company. I believe the system needs a active / inactive radio button. I also would add that all notes, messages etc should be marked slightly different like italicized so there is an indication that they are gone. Another approach is to show the person's name with a strike through.
