This area does have scope for improvement. The mathematics of probability is usually multiplication not addition. A 50% chance the customer will actually buy something and a 50% chance they will buy from me is a 25% forecasting probability and not 50% + 50% =100%. Maximizer likes to add up probabilities in strategies when they are better multiplied. 90% fit of the product and 10% score for relationship is better represented as a 9% deal probability!

Stage and Confidence weights should also be multiplied.

waiting for the purchase decision stage (90%) Confidence very low (10%) = Forecast probability 9%

waiting for the purchase decision stage (90%) Confidence very High (90%) = Forecast probability 81%

This is an update on our Excel Integration for Maximizer which has now been transformed into a complete web enabled toolbar for Microsoft Excel.

Take any Excel workbook (2007,2010,2013) add merge fields, uniquely number the document , save values back to Maximizer, save the Excel to Maximizer.

Our new integration works with AddressBook records , Opportunities and Cases. The system can be deployed with Maximizer 12 (Group or Enterprise) and Maximizer CRM 2015.

For a quick preview take just 2 minutes to view this video of the creation of a quotation for a customer at Escona using the integration. More details to follow!

We have developed a windows service that in the background adds details to the Category field of who and email was from and to: Ideally this should be visible in its own columns too. This make understand a series of email on the same subject much easier.

I am now increasingly seeing clients that want to be able to use these addresses in the campaign manager too.

I agree with David. I generally teach - "Never EVER use a hotlist active date UDF".

This is an old Chestnut. I have had to 'rescue' a number of users from the unintended consequences of recurring hotlist active date UDFs! This option should at least ask if you really, really want this!

In my experience, users fall foul of this feature not doing what they expect quite often when they create fields for "Company Year End" and "Birthday" just to name a couple of examples.

I suggest that you should be able to specify when setting up the field who gets the task:

The person filling the field on the record (contact etc)
or a specific user. (from a user list drop down)

Maximizer Mobile Access does not integrate into the BB menus the way MaxMobile does. For example, this allows you to save an email directly from the BB messages and perform similar functions outside of the main maximizer application and in only the context of the phone applications. It also does not integrate with calls events and mesaging events to help automate note creation.

This level of integration with the phone is what makes MaxMobile so great, Can anything be done to try to achieve this across all phone platforms within Maximizer Mobile Access? I think maybe we need something like the web-outlook addin- a phone specific integration you download that enables these features in the phone but in the back-end is really talking directly to the Maximizer Webservice on the server. This approach would minimise the phone specific code needed while maximizing the overall functionallity.

Over recent releases we have been implementing improvements to handling of column setups and how these are managed within the various list views – row height and width etc.

We will continue to introduce UI and UX improvements going forward to make the solution even easier to work with.

Almost every time I teach column set-ups the users expect that there will be some sort of 'auto-width' setting feature similar to that in Excel. Either as a feature in set-up or when on screen in use. Some enhancements here would be apreciated by users.

I have frequently been asked for this feature by users, often better use of existing wildcard searching options will help.

I would suggest that this needs to be a separate field to solve the problem properly. This has the benefit that you could probably support multiple friendly names per account which I suspect may be the next request if this is improved.

The full company name field should always be what you would print on a letter and should not include the friendly name.

If the field was a long enough text field then a list could be entered, "IBM,Big Blue,I.B.M." and maximizer could simply wildcard your search term into this. To be more sophistaicated you would need a friendly name table to support multiple records per account properly and then seaching *Blue would work correctly too.

Searching company name could automatically include the friendly name field.
Ideally the search form should ask if you want to use 'include nicknames' - default to yes - remember last setting or as a pref.

Should you be able to add the new field to Views?

Idealliy there should also be and "include hidden contacts" on all search forms. (defaults to Off)
