We do not have any finalised plan on whether we will remove support for direct SQL queries in Dashboards or not. As far as we know today, we are not planning to make any change in that area of the software for the upcoming V13 release.

However, in the CRM Live cloud environment, for security reasons, we do not allow users to directly access SQL. Thus, this feature is not supported there.

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for the suggestion. Indeed, you input includes a number of fairly significant suggestions that should probably be broken down into multiple ones.

We are moving away from supporting creations of Dashboards through direct SQL Queries, which is too complicated for us to support and cause all kinds of security issues. The built-in Dashboard is intended to be created by advanced Maximizer users creating the Dashboard through our UI, and not by programmers. There are other tools and report writers out there that supports generic SQL queries. For example, you may look into using MS SQL Reporting Service for your need.

However, I am interested to know some of the Use Case Scenarios (from end user's prospective) that people like to see working, and then we will see how we may support these scenarios in the future.

You said "Many people want to make a dashboard indicator from multi-select table fields and the way Maximizer uses the fields makes this useless.". Can you provide an example of how user want to graph a multi-select table field?

    Thanks,
    Joseph

Just based on general market knowledge and the number of requests like this one that we get (vs. other requests), I am confident in saying that the percentage of customers that demands Mac support is less than 1%.

Our Web Access works perfects on Mac's, as long as you use FireFox to access it.

Please note Maximizer’s professional service team have created integrations with Avaya AES among others so feel free to contact them directly if you have an acute need for this type of integration.

We have not had experience with the Outlook Dialer. Besides a regular modem that works over normal phone line, does it work with other phone systems (VOIP?)?

We also will have to do some research on the API to see what kind of integration is possible.

We are adding to the support for "Formatted URL" for outbound calls in the next version.

We are looking to implement support for "Formatted URL" for outbound calls. We are thinking that the URL template should be an Administrative setting (meaning there will only one URL template for every user). Do you think that will be sufficient?

In the URL template, the administrator would be able to specify some merge fields. For example, the template may be:

    sip:{phoneNo}@gateway
    sip:{VoipUserID} <-- this is a UDF
    https://www.xyz.com/voip/call?{phoneNo}

Will this work? Can you give me examples of what your VOIP system supports?

    Thanks,
    Joseph

Formatted URLs will work for most softphones for outbound calls. But, for inbound calls and for hard phones (is that what's it's called nowadays?), a more custom solution will be required.

Thanks Phil for the other feedback, we will have a look at into Cytrack.

Sure. This is not the layer where application developers integrate with, unless you are trying to create a software based sip phone. If anyone is aware of any business application that provides similar functionality to integrate with all sip phones, I really would like to know. Even better, if you are aware of any software library that will allow us to provide the desired functionality to all sip phones, please let me know.

After researching this topic quite a bit, we found that every phone vendor has their own proprietory API. There isn't one common way to handle incoming and outgoing calls.

Instead of trying to build an integration that works for all phone system, we may look at producing an example of how integration can be done. We may share the source code, and let everyone create their own integration with the specific phone systems.

Are you aware of some other software that has generic SIP integration with all VOIP phone systems? I wonder if this is something we can learn from other software that has done this.

    Joseph Hui commented  ·

Phone integratin is a very broad topic. We would need to narrow down our focus to the APIs you want to see supported, and more importantly which particular phone systems you would like to see supported.

I would like to ask everyone to provide feedback on these two questions:
    1. Which phone systems to support?
    2. Is there a standard API you think we should support?

You may delete a dashboard by following these steps:
    1. Open you dashboard
    2. Click the "Properties" button in the menu on top.
    3. There is a button near he bottom of the dialog that allows you to "Delete the current dashboard".

Since the capability is already in the product, I am closing this idea now.

Good. We rely on Word to give you the merge capability. Also, you must have Maximizer CRM 12 Winter 2012 release or later installed.

We are in the process of developing a video tutorial for the Word add-in. It will be released in the next month. Please watch out for it in our Youtube channel here:

You may also try the getsatisfaction forum for help:

This fourm is for new feature ideas only. I will close your suggestion now.

    Thanks for choosing Maximizer.

    Joseph

Even though this can be done technically, there are legality issues, especially with LinkedIn. LinkedIn's user agreement is very strict that you cannot extract their data and store them locally without getting an explicit agreement from them.

Our intent is to continue improvement on the Outlook Toolbar. Maximizer is not in the business of building Email Client software. It just doens't make sense for us to replicate the functionality of Outlook in our software.

"Prompt for Values" for Web will be in the upcoming release which is expected to come out in July.

But, Mobile Access will have to wait for a future release.

To address this request, what would everyone think of the idea of improving OrderDesk and linking it with Opportunities? If so, what else would you like to improve in OrderDesk?

Over recent releases we have been implementing improvements to handling of column setups and how these are managed within the various list views – row height and width etc.

We will continue to introduce UI and UX improvements going forward to make the solution even easier to work with.

There are two different outstanding requests:
    1. Support of Web Access on Safari running on Mac

The solution to this is FireFox. There is currently no plan to support any more browsers other than IE and Firefox.

    2. Support of Web Access on iPad (which has a different version of Safari than the desktop)
There is desire to run the full Web Access on iPad. However, because of the way the application works with many popup windows, plus the fact that the UI is not designed to work with touch, it will be extremely technical challenging to get it to work on iPad. We do not see a reasonable solution to achieve this goal in the short to medium term. We made some improvements in Mobile Access in the Summer 2012 to make it more optimized for the tablets. At this moment, this is the only viable solution we see.
