This is becoming more common when storing multiple record types in a module or whereby you need individual Key Field screens dependent on the type of record on display because some fields would not be applicable in all cases - another example is Opportunities. If the Opportunity Type = X then display the applicable key fields screen.
At present users have to check the type and then adjust the key fields

This option missing from the web admin module is causing us a fair amount of issues in the last month or so with 2017. We have clients who want to upgrade but have to inform them of some limitations if they do so.
One of these customers we have written automation for an auto quote number for any new Opportunity they create and it takes the values from a User - User Defined Fields in order to add the users initials to the quote number. When they add new user they have to come to us as we have access to the server and the traditional Administrator program.
There are a couple of other systems we have where these fields are used to control security with other automations or integration with other databases.
It is an example of admin functions that are still yet to make it across to the browser which is a little frustrating. Ironically when you add a new user via web admin it asks if you want to copy the User Defined fields of an existing user yet the tab is just simply missing from the profile screen. Surely it cannot be too difficult to reinstate this functionality?

This type of thing has cropped up a couple of times with some of my clients.
The Account Manager field is great, but some systems like to have additional items like Technical Manager, Project Manager, or even one that happened this week was 'Referred by'.
I think the main reason for this type of field would be associated with searches and then dashboards as a UDF with a list of names cannot be linked with the 'current user' search which is perfect for reporting purposes.

Martin - if a user accesses their Calendar \ Hotlist Preferences there is a default interval value here.
Know this works as we changed it to ten minutes for a bunch of users of a site we support.
