Improve the initial search result view when saving email from Outlook using the Web toolbar
It is not always possible to differentiate between records that are displayed by the "Save Email to ..." when saving emails to Maximizer when using the Maximizer Web Toolbar for Outlook.
This is more of a problem for Opportunities as not everyone can distinguish between Opportunities by only using the Company / Status / Stage / Close date / Objective fields. We have customers were they have multiple open opportunities with the same customer and the only differentiator between opportunities is the product, so the current search result doesn’t help.
This is less of a problem for Cases and Address Book records but users can still have issues matching records up
Possible solutions:-
Allow the administrator to create columns setups for Address Book / Opportunity / Case that can then be used by the Save to Maximizer feature
Allow the administrator to select the fields to include on the search result using a form (like the user has for Address Format in the Preferences)
Add Product and Category to the Save to Opportunity search result.

Hi Jenny, I too have checked out the new feature in 2015R2. I'm more concerned with opportunities and the list that Max automatically presents you - there seems no way to customise this list - only the search list that you display by carrying out a manual search.

Hi Jenny,
Yes I have noticed the long awaited improvement, however unfortunately (and I assume it is a mistake) you have complete changed the search field for company name, so that it does no longer look in company address book as it used to, but now instead it searches for partners with that name! - I trust it is a mistake, that I hope you will fix quickly, because it is a big frustration having to run through hundreds of projects listed until I find the right one!! -

This has been implemented in the Maximizer CRM 2015 R2 release...
Outlook Add-on - Support column view in the dialog for searching Maximizer entries
If you need more fields to identify which entry is the right one for saving the email, you can now select a column setup view that has been created in Maximizer. This can be very useful if you want to use a specific field to identify the right entry. For example, you can include case number in the column view. This will help you to make sure the email will be saved to the right case. -

Column setup creation so that any field can be specified in the view for "Saving Emails" back to Maximizer is a much needed improvement.

Even when saving emails to a company we have a hard time telling them apart. We have many company records with the same name. Having Department, Division or some address/phone fields will help immensely.

Great input and I could not agree more. From my point adding the "Objective" field would be minimum requirement, but for sure if more customization of the search result view would be accessable for administrator then it would be even better.

The interface between Outlook and Maximizer (web version) is very archaic. The whole thing needs to be improved. I agree that Maximizer should allow customization of the fields shown - for us the ability to see the subject line of the customer service case would be very helpful along with the creation date. (This would help prevent duplicate cases from being created as well as identify which case to add the email to.) It is allowed within Maximizer under the View/Column Setup menu.

I agree with Robbie. In principle, this is a great idea, but it needs some more work on it. It's not uncommon on large client sites to have many opportunities, and over the years it blds up. I've over 50 against more than 1 client

Great ideas Robbie. We use Products/Services of which we have multiple ones against each customer and thus the current view just shows seemingly the same line item over and over with no way to differentiate which P/S goes to which opportunity. Please add P/S as a visible save to field at the very least. Thanks.
