TAPI Support for Windows 7
I would like to make calls from Maximizer with my existing contacts - using the dialer and my phone system (in this case Allworx).
Why can I use Outlook in this manner but not Maximizer? What is different about Windows 7?

Maximizer is not interested in resolving this issue. I talked with them for years about it and here we are with no solution. Being able to dial directly from the CRM saves a lot of time and the compounding effect would be tremendous.

I agree. Not being able to click and dial my contacts is a pain

Hi Chad,
I've got the same wish/issue regarding Maximizer CRM and Windows 7 regarding TAPI. A post in the getsatisfaction Forum didn't get any reaction so far. Here's my post (link at the bottom):
Hi,
As it is mentionend in the KB article here (http://portalgd.knowledgebase.net/dis...) TAPI with Maximizer CRM 12 and Windows 7 doesn't work.
This article is over 2 years old. Maximizer CRM 12 has been out in four versions (12.0, 12.1, 12.2 and the newest release 12.3 a.k.a. Summer 2013) and this problem has still not be resolved. The article has been viewed just a little bit over 1'000 times. So there is interest in using Maximizer CRMs TAPI functionality with Windows 7.
We have several customers who made not only an upgrade from Maximizer CRM (from version 3 up to 11) to Maximizer CRM 12 but also from Windows XP (support from Microsoft has been announced to be discontinued several times but has been postponed several times. At the moment it will run out on 8th of April 2014) to Windows 7 and most of them use the 64bit version due to the increased RAM they've built into the new machines.
It is not only frustrating for them but also for us. How should we advertise a CRM software that provides a dialer but it doesn't work with the (nowadays) most used OS in companies?
There are workarounds that have been mentioned here (Dial through Outlook) and we were able to solve the problem internaly through a modification of the phone numbers. A lot of our customers use the canonical address format for phone numbers that has been established by Microsoft in 2005 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/li...) and are not willing to change the format of the phone numbers. Firstly it is the official Microsoft Standard and most software developers use this as a standard and what would happen if they would change to a different CRM software? They'd have to re-format the whole DB again. This is not acceptable.
When will this be resolved? TAPI dialing capability is an important function of a CRM for our customers. We could lose them if this will not be resolved in the future.
I've postet it on 25th of July 2013 and have answered it myself to push it up a little bit in the forum on 6th of August and today (14th of August). So far no reaction.
Please resolve this.
